1949 Morris minor low light Rolling Shell

The good bits first.
Front and rear guards are in very good condition in primer. Bonnet and doors have surface rust but structurally good. Boot has surface rust with a small amount of penetrating rust in bottom corners but very salvageable. Roof has been repaired and in primer. Also there is all the original glass for the windows

Then the bad bits.
Floor, Sills and cross members have rust that need very major work. There is no interior i.e. seats head lining. Inside the shell in boxes are headlights /surrounds various cables hinges handles etc

Wanted
I decided to join the MM brigade and have just bought a 1954 Minor which sadly has immediately developed a motor problem - bit of a hole and a score in a bore from a broken piston ring.

I am looking for a good 1098cc motor to drop in and happy to pay the right price.
If anyone has or knows of such a motor could they please contact me.

I know these are hard to get but I thought I would ask. Someone might be looking at upgrading or going the Datsun/Toyota route.
I'm looking at joining the Geelong Club once I get mobile.

I am the executor of my late father’s Estate, and looking to sell off his 1953 Morris Minor.

It has sat in his garage for the last 35 years; the body is in reasonable condition (straight and minimal visible rust), but the engine has seized.

We have already had offers from a wrecker to purchase the vehicle for its scrap value.
However I would prefer the car to go to someone who will get some use from it, either to restore or use for parts for their own restoration.

If any of your members are interested, please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

This car is located in Strathmore (North Essendon).

I believe my late father disposed of a few other Minors from his Moonee Ponds property via the club many years back – not sure who he may have dealt with.

There is also an old Morris 8 van (although the body on this is in VERY poor condition) but the glass & instruments are all there, and I believe the drivetrain is too. This vehicle is at the Moonee Ponds property.

Thanks for your assistance – it would be a shame to see the car(s) get crushed for scrap.

1967 Almond Green 1098cc Traveller with light green interior.

This 1967 car has the Original 1098cc Engine, and covered 64,000 miles.
She had a $3500 refit during the Summer of 2008. That was new carpets, battery, radiator recored, complete professional respray with windscreen out. New wood and Varnish. Then 2 litres of Finnigans Waxoyl underneath and inside both sills. Where ever they could get it, they got it......
She has had 3 Previous owners, and really is a fine example.
I am looking for $8000 for it, and that’s in England. It costs 900 Pounds, or $1300 from Southampton to Sydney. That’s an overall $9300.

She would certainly last a lot longer in your climate, the rain we have over here, combined with the Salt on the roads in Winter, and all that moisture absolutely kills these old cars. It means you can only use them for 5 months of the year.
